Our Values
A business is like an individual person. Its activities have an impact on its customers, workers, the environment, the local community and the society in general. And the right way to run a business is to follow social, labour and environmental regulations, and to adopt all other policies needed in order to improve the quality of life of society as a whole. These actions have to be linked to the basic activity of the business and have to have a permanent goal.
Our Code of Ethics
- We strive to use as many recyclable materials as possible
- We recycle most of the waste generated on our tours
- We collaborate with accommodation establishments that respect and promote our values
- We follow strict measures to eliminate any negative impact on the environment. That means we’ll avoid areas where we might disturb wildlife and under no circumstances we will feed wild animals.
- We pick up litter we come across on our tours and strictly follow the motto “take only pictures and leave only footprints“
- We promote the protection of natural reserves through information and public awareness
- We respect the social and cultural background of the areas we visit
- We encourage those who run with us to use and enjoy nature in a responsible and sustainable way
- We minimize the negative impact of our activity through the responsible use of resources, avoiding damage to habitats and endangered species
- We engage in cooperation with town halls, communities and organizations to promote responsible practices in the tourism industry
That’s why it’s fundamental that a business which unfolds its activity in the natural environment knows clearly what its values are. It must also know what will drive its activity, what will have priority and what will lay the foundations of all decisions made.
Everything we do on a daily basis has an impact on the environment in a positive or negative way. At Traiectus we are aware of that and we take it seriously.
Just for joining us on one of our tours you will enjoy an unforgettable experience and help the conservation of the natural environment in the most rewarding manner. How? An example would be our delicious lunch on-the-go, prepared with food grown by local farmers, which helps the local economy in a much more sustainable way.
Our guiding values
Respect for the environment and its people. Everything we do is guided by the principles of respect towards the environment and its people. If something is harmful for the environment or the people living in the areas we visit, we’ll make an effort to change that situation until it turns into a positive action.
Community. Traiectus is organized around the concept of community. We seek creating a community of trail runners who share similar values; our tours are designed with this goal in mind and we look forward meeting all those who would like to be a part of this community. But community is not just us, trail runners; rather it is also the people who live at the places our tours cover. We cooperate with them and try to contribute to making positive changes.
Integrity and responsability. We act with integrity and in a honest way in all that we do. We will keep our promises and will take full responsibility of our actions. And if we fail in something, we’ll admit it and we’ll work to prevent it from happening again.
Fun. Live is a trip you have to enjoy at each and every moment. We enjoy what we do all the time. And if we make those who visit us enjoy every minute, there’s no better reward.
Teamwork. A whole is always worthier than components. We work together to achieve the best results, focusing on cooperation rather than competition. We seek help when we need it and we offer it the it’s needed from us.
Enthusiasm. We like what we do and that shows with the enthusiasm we try to convey to those who around us. Enthusiasm draws a positive attitude and provides us with the energy to achieve our goals.
